Event Meeting and Exceeding WCAG Guidelines for Video Accessibility

Description Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation at Georgia Tech, on behalf of AccessGA, is offering a free 1-hour webinar on the topic of video accessibility. In this presentation, we will look at the guidelines established by WCAG in regards to video media accessibility and discuss how you can go beyond satisfactory compliance and into a fully inclusive and accessible product. Areas that will be covered include the basics of WCAG Video Accessibility Guidelines, how captioning and video description meets these guidelines, what you can do to meet those guidelines, and how and why you should go above the AA requirements.

Presenter Christopher Delano is employed at Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation as an Audio Description Specialist. He earned a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts and English at Columbus State University. His interest in writing and performance can be traced as far back as elementary school. His background in writing and criticism in the area of dramatic and poetic literature has led to several publications in the area of literary art. Christopher has served for a number of years in a student support position at Columbus State University. He has a passion for providing the necessary accommodations of all students, regardless of their ability, and has channeled that passion with the work he does at Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation.
