Description There is often a lot of confusion surrounding digital accessibility, what it looks like, who benefits, and why it matters. In this first of two webinars, we will be covering the following: - an overview of assistive technology solutions used by people with disabilities - learning to test for accessibility using assistive technology solutions such as screen readers - a business case for why state agencies and Higher Ed institutions need to consider digital accessibility - overview of national guidelines and standards related to digital accessibility This webinar will be followed up with a 2nd webinar on February 22nd that offers a web accessibility evaluation methodology based on W3C’s WCAG-EM, and includes how to report findings tailored to the reader.

Presenter John Rempel, QA Accessibility Analyst, has more than 20 years of training experience, with certifications and extensive experience as an AT Specialist, Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, Orientation & Mobility Specialist and Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) through IAAP. He personally relies on, and has taught, some of the same AT solutions and techniques used for testing web accessibility.
